Colby comme éleveur et propriétaire historique et un pit weight historique de 35 lb (environ 16 kg). Ces indications restent attribuées à la source ; la date de la photographie est inconnue. Le souvenir de Louis Colby dans l’histoire de 1997 décrit J.P. emmenant Tige nager à l’embouchure du Merrimack, près du port. Il s’agit d’une mémoire familiale, pas d’un document contemporain de l’événement. L’histoire de 1997 relie Tige à Bill Lightner par Topsey, une femelle de Tige et Neitz choisie par J.P.
