Historical context

Tudor’s Dibo is the buckskin male reported born on 21 March 1951 in Phoenix, from Bounce and Bambi. Peinado describes his earlier name Dumbo and passage from Howard Heinzl’s yard to Earl Tudor; Runt is also retained as a reported name. GameDogs reports death in 1960, a fawn coat and 19.96 kg (44 lb) pit weight. FIAPBT separately labels 44 lb as chain weight. These categories and the Smith/Heinzl breeder alternatives remain source-specific, not silently combined. Richard Stratton’s 2019 recollection gives the pronunciation DIE-bo and repeats the earlier Dumbo name. His account says Heinzl told him Bambi had been sold to a man surnamed Smith and mated at Hubbard’s place. This differs from Peinado’s account of the mating at Heinzl’s yard; the custody and location versions remain distinct, without treating the surname alone as independent proof of the breeder’s initials. Canine Heritage names Heinzl’s Arizona Pete and Langham’s Lil as Dibo’s littermates, without supplying litter records or birth dates for either. Stratton’s 2019 Heinzl-attributed account describes an easygoing Dibo, chosen by Tudor during a visit.

Attributed photograph — identity not conclusively confirmed

Attributed to Tudor’s Dibo · Photographer unknown · Embedded figure in Mariano Peinado’s FIAPBT historical report. Source JPEG and complete frame retained; WebP variants by PITVU.

Photograph source · Reuse basis

The selected JPEG is embedded in Mariano Peinado’s historical Dibo report immediately before the caption Tudor’s DIBO, after the separate Corvino’s Shorty figure. The page discusses the1951dog associated with Heinzl, Smith, Hubbard’s Bounce and Heinzl’s Bambi, matching the existing PITVU identity. Its original photographer, exposure date and primary photographic caption have not been established. Attribution is plausible from the explicit historical caption, not conclusively authenticated; shown as an attributed photograph, not counted as established. Other nearby pictures explicitly depict CrazyJoe, ArizonaPete, Gimp and BlackWidow and are not substituted.

The publisher-author authorizes copying and distribution of La Leyenda, which embeds the same standing Dibo photograph. PITVU relies on that article-specific declaration. The retained historiadibo page supplies the current JPEG, but its snapshot does not contain the quoted permission. The photograph, original hash, credits and uncertainty are retained. The underlying photographer, earliest publication and complete historical rights chain are not independently established; no blanket permission, public-domain or Creative Commons licence is claimed.

Published references place Dibo’s birth in Phoenix, Arizona, USA. The 2023 Smith tribute and 2014 Stubbs article are distinct FIAPBT publications sharing Peinado’s account; GameDogs 64891 lists USA, but its underlying evidence is unknown. These are three publications, not three independent attestations. The earlier FIAPBT history describes Dibo’s childhood in Heinzl’s yard. The country and historical place are source-reported; no original birth document has been inspected.
