Legal status: unresolved
Attributed to Plumber’s Alligator · Information and photo courtesy of Villa Liberty kennels, as credited by FIAPBT record380. Original photographer and exposure date unknown. Complete source JPEG, printed caption and existing markings retained; WebP derivatives by PITVU.
Selected existing candidate, editorial arithmetic score3.25/5=(3+5+2+3)/4. FIAPBT380 identifies the historical Alligator with1971birth, male/black, Williams breeder and The Plumbers owner context, and its own image widget resolves this exact380.jpg. Dogsfiles2093 reproduces the same standing collared dog, pole, ground, tail and printed lower caption with an added watermark; these are two publications of ONE frame, not independent photographs. Original photographer, first publication and conclusive identity remain unestablished. Shown as attributed, not verified. Parentage/accepted calculations are unchanged.
Legal/copyright status is UNRESOLVED. The original photographer, first publication and rights holder have not been established. FIAPBT credits Villa Liberty kennels as the information/photo supplier; this credit is not a licence. No permission, Creative Commons licence or public-domain status is asserted. The PITVU owner expressly directed publication of this specific previously selected public380.jpg with its source/credit and unresolved legal status. That editorial decision is not evidence of copyright ownership or authorization from the rights holder. Original bytes, SHA-256, attribution and identity uncertainty are retained; no watermark was removed and no403/access control was bypassed.

The selected JPEG is embedded in Mariano Peinado’s historical Dibo report immediately before the caption Tudor’s DIBO, after the separate Corvino’s Shorty figure. The page discusses the1951dog associated with Heinzl, Smith, Hubbard’s Bounce and Heinzl’s Bambi, matching the existing PITVU identity. Its original photographer, exposure date and primary photographic caption have not been established. Attribution is plausible from the explicit historical caption, not conclusively authenticated; shown as an attributed photograph, not counted as established. Other nearby pictures explicitly depict CrazyJoe, ArizonaPete, Gimp and BlackWidow and are not substituted.
The publisher-author authorizes copying and distribution of La Leyenda, which embeds the same standing Dibo photograph. PITVU relies on that article-specific declaration. The retained historiadibo page supplies the current JPEG, but its snapshot does not contain the quoted permission. The photograph, original hash, credits and uncertainty are retained. The underlying photographer, earliest publication and complete historical rights chain are not independently established; no blanket permission, public-domain or Creative Commons licence is claimed.

The full original255×308 front-three-quarter black-and-white dog frame was visually inspected; no exact SHA duplicate was found in existing photograph manifests. Historical photographer, exposure date, earliest publication and photographic identity are not independently established. This is an attributed image, not a new genealogical or ownership claim.
Mariano Peinado’s signed article expressly authorizes copying and distribution of the article. PITVU relies on that publisher-author authorization for this exact embedded, captioned figure; no figure-specific exclusion was found. The full article capture, original figure, caption linkage and SHA-256 are retained. The photographer, earliest publication and complete underlying historical rights chain remain unestablished and are not independently certified. Editorial evidence is separate from accepted ancestry. Original records and prior revisions are retained.
Alligator is a historical APBT family label associated with the individual known as Plumber’s Alligator and later breeding by Gary Hammonds. This dossier separates the founder reference, reported family branches and subsequent kennel programmes. Source-reported history does not establish accepted parentage.
The dog and the family
Source-reported
ADBA’s Gazette listing names Plumber’s Alligator; FIAPBT record 380 identifies the same historical name. Alligator is the canonical PITVU family label. Aligator is a search spelling, not a separately identified dog.
FIAPBT reports a 1971 birth and associates the dog with Williams and The Plumbers. Those details lack inspected original documents. In his 2012 contribution, Hammonds places his transition toward the Alligator family in the early 1980s; these are distinct stages.
Hammonds describes Alligator, Soko and Renee in his recollections and discusses Satin Lady and Maurice Carver. Williams, The Plumbers and Hammonds have different reported roles. These historical associations do not identify a current owner or a registered kennel.
Hammonds’s book contribution describes Rufus as an Alligator–Satin Lady offspring, and discusses crosses involving Black Sister and other dogs. The interview also names Michelle, Spike and Snort. These are reported family references; no new accepted pedigree edges are created.
Central Coast Kennel’s own Italian account reports receiving Humble Hail and Huckleberry Doodle from Catch Dog Enterprises and describes Showtime within an Alligator/Bolio/Tombstone context. That later programme is distinct from the founder dog and does not prove ancestry for other dogs carrying the label.
The publisher’s listing and attributed breeder recollections are different evidentiary origins for recognition of the historical name. The interview and Hammonds’s book contribution are one witness, not two. Original birth and registry documents, independently corroborated parentage and complete chronology remain outstanding.

The selected historical photographic candidate is now displayed with an attributed-identity label under PITVU’s explicit editorial decision. Identification is not finally confirmed, and the legal status of republication remains undetermined. This decision does not establish permission, a free licence or public-domain status. The image’s source, available credit, original file and SHA-256 remain in its photographic provenance.
