Colby’s Texas is the brindle-and-white male in FIAPBT 1278, with birth reported as 10 March 1953 and breeder Louis B. Colby. The historical-owner field names Louis B. Colby and Pete Sparks. Dime and Margie are the reported parents. Texas appears as Dutch’s sire and also as Rusty’s sire with Dutch as dam, making the repeated Texas positions explicit without converting this source pedigree into an accepted COI calculation. The 2020 retrospective names Bishop’s Crazy and Bishop’s Jeremiah among Texas’s offspring, and identifies Hetrick’s Colby Chopper as a son of Texas and Hetrick’s Bootsie Girl. The 1997 family book adds a different part of Texas’s life: before Pete Sparks bought him, he accompanied the animal-control officer in Exeter, New Hampshire. The entry identifies him as Colby’s or Sparks’ Texas, UKC 357-998. This is an attributed historical association, not a birthplace or a claim about current working status. Dogsfiles 157601 explicitly reports USA birth for the Dime–Marge male and names Dutch and Loposay’s Rusty among his offspring.
